Postpartum Hemorrhage: Part I-Prevention Strategies-Nursing Considerations (1.0 Contact hour - Monograph)

Best suited for: Midwives, obstetric nurse practitioners, OB nurses, and other interested healthcare practitioners are also welcome to participate.

Upon completion, participants should be able to

1.    Explain the causes of PPH (“ 4 Ts”) & importance of determining etiology early during
2.    Identify 3 PPH prevention strategies and compare to existing practice.
3.    Modify current clinical practice to incorporate the new AWHONN PPH practice guidelines.


Course Materials

Learning Assessment: There will be a post test for this activity with a minimum performance requirement of 8 out of 10 correct answers (80%).

Method and Medium: To obtain CNE credit, view the entire monograph and complete the evaluation and post-test. Once completed, a certificate will be generated for printing.
